Nokia desperately needs something to get people buying their phones again. Their own smartphones that carry the Symbian OS haven’t been faring well in the U.S. market, so they partnered with Microsoft to create Nokia Windows Phones, and the results are astounding.
Right now, the best offering they have is the Lumia 900, released this April. It runs on the latest version of Windows Phone, which is 7.5, or nicknamed Mango. It’s a totally different OS from Android and iOS. Social media is deeply integrated, and there are plenty of other features you’ll find familiar if you happen to be a Windows desktop user.
It has a large 4.3 – inch AMOLED screen. It also has ClearBlack display and Gorilla Glass for added protection.
To compete with other smartphones, it has 4G LTE and an 8 megapixel camera. It doesn’t hurt to stand out with funky colors too. The blue probably fits the Lumia 900 the best
3. HTC One X
HTC is back with a vengeance with their One series of smartphones. All of these phones are loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich, and they all have HTC’s Sense interface.
To coincide with HTC’s use of Ice Cream Sandwich, they’ve also revamped, or rather simplified, the Sense interface. It’s very easy to navigate, and it’s a great direction to where HTC’s aesthetics are going.
The One X is the best Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone HTC has right now. It’s got 1280 by 720p HD resolution with a screen size of 4.7 inches. It also has an 8 megapixel camera and NFC capabilities.
